Holiday Pay

You are eligible to accumulate up to 4 weeks holiday entitlement whilst you are working for Harris Jones.

The regulations implement an accrual system in respect of entitlement to paid leave during the first year of employment. Under this system, leave will accrue during the first year of employment at the rate of one-twelfth of the annual entitlement (which is four weeks per year) per month worked, rounded up to the nearest half day.

This entitlement will be calculated on the average numbers of hours worked over a 12-week period prior to you taking any leave.

  • We must have at least 1 weeks notice in writing prior to any holiday entitlement being taken.
  • There is no payment in lieu of holiday entitlement, unless you are leaving employment with Harris Jones.
  • No holiday may be carried over from one year to the next - our holiday year is 1st October to 30th September.
  • Public Holidays - if you do not work on a public holiday you will not be paid unless you submit a written request to take it as part of your leave entitlement.
